Region Service Manager

Job Summary:
Leads and manages the operational and service culture of the region and provides leadership/guidance to Service Managers within region to ensure goal performance expectations are met.

Essential Functions:
  • Motivates and mentors region staff to consistently meet/exceed goals set for each Financial Center by working with Service Managers to develop and motivate staff to expand existing relationships through the recommendation and sale of additional products/services.
  • Achieves superior customer service within region by ensuring Service Managers and staff service the transactional needs using the CNA process, maintaining confidentiality, and responding to customer questions/requests in a timely manner.
  • Approves consumer loans within lending authority as applicable or coordinating with appropriate personnel for approval.
  • Mentors/develops region staff by providing regular feedback on performance, providing opportunities for development, assisting with writing reviews and making recommendations to reward performance exceeding standards.
  • Ensures operational and staffing levels are adequate by supervising Service Managers in interviews, complying with federal, state, and local employment laws and promoting equal employment opportunity efforts.
  • Ensures Region Financial Centers are in compliance with bank policies/procedures and regulatory/operational/security guidelines by ensuring staff knows and follows guidelines.
  • Updates the disaster plan in a timely manner, and ensures staff is adequately trained in following/reporting safety and security procedures.
  • Increases Region efficiency and staff knowledge by ensuring Service Managers are responsible for their staff being properly trained in all processes, banking transactions, customer service skills, proper telephone etiquette and company philosophy.
  • Assists Region President in the Region’s Financial Center’s budget process by working with Service Managers to prepare annual budget goals within corporate guidelines and manage income, expenses, and customer profitability.
Secondary Functions:
  • Responsible for semi-annual audits of financial centers and monitoring a variety of reports to include the Weekly Savings Reports for all offices in the region, Monthly Sales Production Report, and distributing 1003 Mortgage forms to Financial Center Sales Managers.
  • Represents the Region in the local community by participating in civic and community events and activities.
  • Contributes to the team effort by working on special project/reports, performing other job-related duties, and accomplishing related results.

  • Achieves production and departmental goals/objectives as established in the Individual Annual Plan.
  • Contributes to the overall achievement of corporate goals as established in the Corporate Annual Plan.
  • Ensures employee performance reviews are thorough, accurate, and submitted by the due date.
  • Provides individual coaching to staff as evidenced by documentation in personnel file.
  • Ensures minimal complaints are received from internal/external customers on performance of department staff.
  • Ensures staff attends all mandatory/additional training within timeline specified.
  • Sets the standards for staff on professionalism, customer service, teamwork and attendance as evidenced by management observations.
Physical Requirements:
  • Talking—Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
  • Hearing—Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
  • Seeing—Ability to view a computer screen for an extended period of time and/or identify individuals visually.
  • Standing—Ability to stand on feet for long periods of time.
  • Walking—Ability to use feet and legs to move from one place to another specifically in narrow/confined spaces.
  • Finger dexterity—Ability to work with fingers for handling coins or other small objects and use a keyboard.
  • Reaching—Ability to extend hand/arms in any direction to move/handle objects.
  • Driving—Ability to travel to various/multiple locations or client sites.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent business experience required.
  • Minimum of five years combination management and banking experience, to include retail banking and/or commercial/consumer lending and experience with external business sales calls required.
  • Ability to consistently exceed established sales goals required.
  • Must have demonstrated knowledge of compliance requirements and banking products.
  • Ability to grow current deposit base within corporate deposit mix/size required.
  • Ability to increase both the consumer and commercial loan portfolio and consistently exceed established lending sales goals.
  • Ability to motivate others, effectively lead, and strong decision-making skills required.
  • Professional manner, well groomed, business-like appearance and excellent verbal/written communication skills required.
  • Participates in civic/community activities in a leadership role.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel based on Financial Center needs is required.
  • Ability to utilize industry-related software is required.
