Product Development/Quality Control Supervisor

Job Location: Wilmington, OH.

Job Type: Full Time, Exempt, Grade Level 10

Department: Product Development

Facility: Liberty Centre

Job Summary:
Supervises and directs all aspects of the Product Development and Quality Control departments to include oversight of project implementation for new products, necessary technical changes in software systems, and day-to-day operations of quality control.

Essential Functions:
* Responds to product-related informational requests from internal and external departments and serves as primary contact for issues pertaining to the lending products or software system.
* Coordinates, develops, and evaluates product lines for lending production. Make product improvement recommendations to meet changing operational needs.
* Oversees development of new product specifications from initial development to product launch.
* Oversees the day-to-day operations of the Quality Control Department.
* Maintains the procedures for the quality control plan to ensure that Liberty conforms to investor and regulatory standards.
* Prepares reports by collecting, analyzing and compiling statistics and summarizing information and trends.
* Monitors consistency in workflow, procedures, and policies in lending production.
* Mentors/develops staff by providing regular feedback on performance, providing opportunities for development, writing performance/development reviews, making recommendations to reward performance exceeding standards and handling employee disciplinary issues in a professional, objective and impartial manner.
* Ensures operational and staffing levels are adequate to meet department needs by conducting interviews and hiring staff, complying with federal, state, and local employment laws and promoting equal employment opportunity efforts.
* Ensures staff complies with bank procedures and follows the Privacy Policy, regulatory, and operational guidelines by instructing and guiding employees.
* Propose changes to workflow process and streamline procedures, improve productivity, quality and reduce costs.

Secondary Functions:
* Research and evaluate all proposed changes to the production systems and evaluates impact of changes.
* Assists in the training of the sales force and support areas on lending products, to have a working knowledge of the product areas.
* Attends various committee meetings and planning sessions as needed.
* Stays current with industry knowledge and regulations by completing training sessions as scheduled.
* Contributes to the team effort by working on special project/reports, performing other job-related duties and accomplishing related results.

Job Standards:
* Achieves departmental goals and objectives as established in the Business Plan.
* Makes sound decisions based upon analysis and judgement as evidenced by the operational efficiencies and process improvements observed by management.
* Department meets all reporting requirements and deadlines, as set by management and individual investors, states or regulations.
* Employee performance reviews are thorough, accurate and submitted by the due date.
* Provides individual coaching to staff as evidenced by documentation in personnel file.
* Minimal complaints are received from internal and external customers on performance of department staff.
* Ensures staff attends all mandatory training within timeline specified and additional training classes within reasonable timelines.
* Sets the standards for staff on professionalism, customer service, teamwork and attendance as evidenced by management observations.

Physical Requirements:
* Talking—Ability to express or exchange ideas by means of the spoken word.
* Hearing—Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication.
* Seeing—Ability to view a computer screen for an extended period of time and/or identify individuals visually.
* Mobility—Ability to move from one place to another specifically to attend external/internal meetings and to travel.
* Finger dexterity—Ability to work with fingers for handling documents and use a keyboard.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Business related field or equivalent business related experience required.
* Minimum 3 years of lending and technical experience, with previous management experience preferred.
* Thorough knowledge of FNMA/FHLMC guidelines and related regulatory issues required.
* Must have demonstrated decision making/leadership skills, be self-motivated and have the ability to motivate others.
* Demonstrates strong leadership abilities with a professional manner and presents a well-groomed, business-like appearance.
* Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all types of individuals and demonstrate strong presentation abilities is required.
* Ability to work well under time constraints, adapt to changing situations and have strong organizational/analytical skills required.
* Ability to attend meetings or perform assignments at locations outside of the office and travel as necessary.
* Ability to use industry-related software and work a flexible schedule according to department needs required.
