Description of Duties/Qualifications:
Primary Responsibilities:
The primary responsibility of the Quality Engineer is to develop, implement and maintain quality requirements for new materials, components, products and processes applying engineering principles and techniques. The Quality Engineer applies medical device Quality System Requirements while working under minimum supervision. The Quality Engineer is required to use independent judgment and analysis to solve problems. In addition, the Quality Engineer documents Engineering activity in notebooks, computer programs and business software.
Core Competencies:
* Knowledgeable in medical device Quality System Requirements with specific training and experience in FDA CFR 21 part 820 GMP and ISO 13485.
* Monitors effectiveness of returned goods and complaint process.
* Evaluates and investigates product returns as required to determine root cause of field failures.
* Documents and performs Verification/ Validation testing.
* Performs audits of Quality System and products and documents results.
* Works with engineering to determine methods of measurement, inspection and test of critical components and processes.
* Understands blue prints, schematics and or specifications of video equipment technology.
* Working knowledge of special purpose inspection equipment such as fixed gauges, micrometers, calipers, DVM and similar equipment.
* Is capable of implementing statistical methods and techniques for gauge and process controls.
* Uses available reporting methods to identify opportunities for yield improvement and process or product corrective actions.
* Develops inspection guides, procedures and illustrations.
* Maintains records for coordination of Quality System reporting.
* Perform other various tasks as assigned.

Additional Qualifications:
* Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science or related field.
* Minimum of two [2] years experience in Quality Assurance or Engineering.
* Practical knowledge and training in video and electronic theory, troubleshooting and operation of test equipment/hand tools highly desired.
* Good communication skills.
* Familiarity with medical devices highly desired.
* Working knowledge of AutoCad and Manman or other integrated manufacturing systems a plus.
* Proficiency in the utilization of computers (PC) and other typical desktop applications (Microsoft Office).
* Detail-oriented with strong PC skills.
* Capable with Microsoft Office software applications.
* Ability to read, write, comprehend and speak English.
* Good verbal and written communication skills.
