Primary Duties:
Performs technical routine patient care duties to pediatric to geriatric patients; under general supervision: administers prescribed physical therapy treatment plans, prepares and cleans areas and equipment.
Administers prescribed physical therapy treatment plans for assigned patients under supervision of a physical therapist. Measures patients for ambulation devices and teaches ambulation techniques. Wraps and bandages wounds; cleans, maintains, prepares, adjusts and operates physical therapy and rehabilitation equipment; documents related patient care information; assists with educational and/or inservice training for patients, medical staff or community groups; performs co-treatments with physical therapists every 4 patient visits or every other day, whichever comes first; lifts and transfers patients to and from physical therapy treatments as needed. Cleans patient care areas; assists in the instructions of volunteers and physical therapy students; performs other assigned duties.
Minimum Qualifications:
Completion of an A.M.A. approved Physical Therapist Assistant program or five years of previous physical therapy experience.
Pay:
Commensurate with experience.
