Primary Duties
Performs analytical procedures designed to aid physicians in diagnosing disease and monitoring current patient status. Under general direction, provides generalized and specialized professional laboratory skills in caring for neonatal through geriatric patients in the Laboratory and Blood Bank.
Performs clinical laboratory test procedures and reports results via computer terminals accurately and efficiently while screening for abnormal results and instrumentation malfunction; maintains the quality of laboratory instruments, equipment, and procedures; performs internal quality control on all test procedures; obtains majority of laboratory specimens from the patient by phlebotomy; safely handles potentially hazardous specimens and materials; communicates with physicians, nurses, patients, the general public, and regarding laboratory procedures; updates knowledge and skills necessary to keep abreast of medical advances pertinent to laboratory testing at MGMC.
Minimum Qualifications
Associate’s degree from an accredited Clinical Lab. Tech. program or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in Clinical Laboratory Science or a related discipline and successful completion of an accredited Clinical Lab Science program.
Pay
Commensurate with experience.
