1. Valid Kansas teaching license.
2. Coursework and experiences in educational leadership desirable, but not required.
3. 5 years of experience in education.
4. Demonstrated success in accomplishing tasks similar to those listed below.

CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR

1. Valid teacher certification.
2. At least three years successful teaching experience in USD #383 and current district employment.

ASSISTANT TO THE PRINCIPAL

FLSA STATUS: Exempt position

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: To relieve the Principal of such duties as prevent him or her from fulfilling their chief responsibility of promoting the educational well being of each student in the school.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Building Management

1. Serves as first contact in absence of Principal
2. Works with the Principal in organizing and coordinating efforts to enhance the school`s instructional program.
3. Assists in the management of student behavior throughout the building.
4. Assists with the supervision of the lunchroom, bus loading, and school activities before, during and after the regular school day.
5. Serves as a member of the building Crisis Intervention Team.

Instructional Leadership
1. Assists with the school`s Quality Performance Accreditation and school improvement processes.
2. Assists in the organization and implementation of staff development activities.
3. Assisting the Principal in planning and preparing for local and state assessments.
4. Collaborates with the Principal in providing professional devlelopment for the faculty.
5. Serves as the Principal`s designee at student individual education plan meetings.

Supervision and Evaluation
1. Assists the Principal with employee performance observations
2. Assists in coaching teachers in the enhancement of instructional strategies and skills.
3. Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENTS:
Contract length: 199 days.
Salary: Established by the Board.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on evaluation of Administrative Personnel.


CLINICAL INSTRUCTOR

REPORTS TO: Building Principal

JOB GOAL: To act as the liaison between the district and KSU to promote Professional Development Schools (PDS) and the duties as established by the partnership.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Coordinate all PDS activities and field experiences
1.1. Coordinates placement of KSU field experience students
1.2. Provides orientations for field experience students and PDS faculty
1.3. Supervises KSU field experience students
2. Coordinate PDS communication efforts
2.1. Maintains communication between district administrators, PDS teachers, parents, students, KSU faculty and other clinical instructors
2.2. Attends regularly scheduled clinical instructor meetings
3. Coordinate PDS simultaneous improvement efforts
3.1. Promotes professional development and school improvement activities at each PDS
3.2. Works with district personnel to align activities with district and building improvement efforts
3.3. Assists teachers in development of instruction, aligned with district curriculum and initiatives
4. Coordinate PDS program evaluation
4.1. Conduct annual assessment of PDS impact involving teachers, administrators, parents, and KSU students and faculty
4.2. Collect and assist with analysis of PDS student achievement data
4.3. Assists principals as requested in the evaluation of instruction


TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:

Appointment in addition to regular teaching assignment. Salary and work year to be established by the Board. Selection for this position is joint between building administrator and KSU PDS facilitator.

EVALUATION:

Performance of this job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions of the Boards policy.
