QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum requirements are 48 college hours or successfully passing the Master Teacher Para Assessment Test. CPR and First Aid certificates highly recommended.

JOB GOAL: To help and assist in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which students can take full advantage of the instructional program and available resource materials.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Checks and records student attendance.
2. Works with individual students or small groups of students to reinforce learning of material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
3. Reads to students, listens to students read, and participates in other forms of oral communication with students.
4. Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and make up work, as assigned by the teacher.
5. Helps students master equipment or instructional materials assigned by the teacher.
6. Keeps bulletin board and other classroom learning displays up to date.
7. Operates equipment used in the classroom for instructional purposes and for preparation of instructional materials.
8. Assists with the supervision of students during lunch periods, assemblies, play periods, and on field trips.
9. Maintains the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of teachers.
10. Performs other duties as assigned by the teacher.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: This Part-time Employment Opportunity requires you to work Monday and Friday, only, during school year. Salary is $8.00 per hour. EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Boards policy on classified personnel.
