Description:
Do you enjoy driving? USD 383 is looking for people interested in becoming school bus drivers. All training will be provided including CDL drivers license. Flexible hours, benefits include paid training, sick leave, safety, and attendance bonuses and holidays off.

Starting wage $11.00 per hour.

QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Graduation from a standard high school (or equivalent).
2. Must be able to acquire a Commercial Drivers License.
3. Must complete a Standard First Aid course provided by USD #383.
4. Must complete a Defensive Driving course provided by USD #383.
5. Must be able to lift or drag 75 pounds.
6. Must pass a physical examination upon employment and every 2 years there after.
7. Must possess a clean driving record and have never been convicted of a felony, class A or class B misdemeanor, hit and run, or driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
8. Must never have had a suspended or revoked drivers license and cannot have more than two moving violations in past year.
9. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

REPORTS TO: Assistant Director

JOB GOAL:
To provide the safe and efficient transportation of students to and from school and on activity trips, so that students may enjoy the fullest possible advantage from the district’s curriculum and extracurricular programs.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Obey all traffic laws.
2. Observe and follow all mandatory safety regulations for school buses.
3. Maintain discipline when students are on bus.
4. Report student misconduct to the Discipline Coordinator.
5. Keep assigned bus clean.
6. Keep to assigned schedule for school bus route.
7. Check bus before each operation for mechanical defects.
8. Notify the dispatcher in case of mechanical failure or tardiness.
9. Discharge students only at authorized stops.
10. Exercise responsible leadership when on out of town school activity trips.
11. Transport only authorized passengers.
12. Notify the dispatcher of all accidents and complete the required reports.
13. Other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
As needed. Wages and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.

EVALUATION:
Performance of this Job will be evaluated annually in accordance with the Board's policy on Evaluation of Classified Personnel.
