Job Description:
Our client (the employer) is a large branch office of a large HVAC equipment manufacturer. The company is a major player in this marketplace and their salespeople do very well professionally and financially.

Compensation/Benefits:

Compensation program starts as a base plus commission and incentives (percentage of revenues and/or gross margins) plus company car (or allowance) and expenses. People in this position earn between $70K - $130K+ in their first year. There are health, dental, ESOP, and other benefit programs as well.

Sales position responsible for identifying, estimating, and selling comfort solutions to the existing building marketplace. Many projects include replacement, renovation, or retrofit of building HVAC, automation, and/or lighting systems. For example, projects can vary from Centrifugal chiller (or boiler, or cooling tower etc.) replacements, to BAS (Building Automation System) installations to retrofit older buildings. Another focus will be on selling maintenance and performance service contracts, products, and services to the commercial, industrial, or institutional property owner/manager.

This position requires a passion for sales and business development. The emphasis here is on conceptual (and technical) selling of total "turnkey" HVAC system upgrades/renovations/replacement. The "best fit" person is going to have a sales system they are comfortable with, and that can be documented and followed by others as he/she grows this department. There is already a Project Management team in place to get the work done after it is booked, so this sales position is 90% sales. There is also a responsibility for coordinating, communicating, and managing interaction between departments and subcontractors on multiple projects.

Successful people in these roles have had previous work experience with companies such as Honeywell, Johnson Controls, Landis div. Siemens, SIEBE, Invensys, Carrier, Trane, York, McQuay, ESCO's, lighting or electrical contractors, and mechanical contractors.

Skills Required:

Five plus years of sales experience in sales and/or marketing any type of new construction and after-market equipment and services to the commercial, industrial, or institutional property owner/manager. This position requires superior verbal and written communication skills, an aggressive, goal-oriented, and competitive nature, and proficiency with MS Office.

Degree:

B.S. in Engineering preferred; however experience and a successful track record and a desire to earn high commissions $$$ are the most important qualifications.
