Mechanical Equipment Engineer III

Job Description
The Mechanical engineer will perform detailed design and analysis of custom equipment, individually and as part of design team. Typical equipment includes containment systems (gloveboxes, hoods), material handling equipment, small scale process piping & equipment, furnace systems, metal working systems (mills, lathes, rolling machines) and pressure vessels. This position requires US Citizenship.
Scope/Key Responsibilities
Follow regimented quality assurance / quality control procedures.
Detailed design activities include preparation of fabrication drawing packages, equipment datasheets, fabrication specifications, procurement specifications, engineering studies, test plans, and detailed equipment sizing & qualification calculations.
Responsibilities include coordinating detailed phases of design work with other engineering disciplines.
Required Experience
Minimum of seven (7) years design engineering experience.
Proficient with 3D design software (Pro/E Wildfire preferred).
Demonstrated capability in the design of custom equipment and/or containment systems, development of design documentation including fabrication drawings, engineering analyses, strength of materials calculations, fabrication and procurement specifications and basic knowledge in the selection of materials.
Familiarity with MathCAD and MS Access a plus.
Bachelor of Sciences degree in Engineering required. Engineering Technology degree will not be considered.
Must be a US Citizen
Must have the ability to acquire a security clearance.
Professional Engineering (P.E.) license is preferred.
Candidate will be expected to obtain a P.E. license in Tennessee.
Relocation will be considered.
