Mechanical Engineer II Refining

Job Description
The mechanical engineer will perform detailed design and analysis of energy related projects, including project in oil and gas, renewable and conventional utilities and advanced fuels. Projects will also include bioproducts and biofuels. Work will include developing all aspects of the mechanical design of a project, including pumps, heat exchangers, coolers, rotating equipment, and fans. Additionally, the position requires developing equipment data sheets and specifications, piping specifications and calculations, and general layout of equipment, piping and auxiliary systems. Will need to be able to work with other disciplines in coordinating project design, as well as working with the mechanical design group for the development of construction drawings.
Scope/Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing project scope, schedule and budgets
- Follow quality assurance / quality control procedures.
- Detailed design activities include preparation of specifications and drawing packages, equipment datasheets, engineering studies, test plans, and detailed equipment sizing & qualification calculations.
- Responsibilities include coordinating detailed phases of design work with other engineering disciplines.
Required Experience
- Minimum of five (5) years mechanical engineering experience.
- Demonstrated capability in the design of energy production equipment and systems, development of design documentation including drawings, engineering analyses and calculations, procurement specifications and basic knowledge in the selection of materials.
- Familiarity with MathCAD and MS Access a plus.
- Bachelor of Sciences degree in Engineering from an A.B.E.T. accredited university required. Engineering Technology degree will not be considered.
- PE license is highly desirable.
