Introduction
Merrick & Company is seeking a college or graduate school student for a summer internship. The summer internship has a commitment of mid-May 2013 through mid-August 2013. This position requires U.S. Citizenship.
Job Description
The summer internship will provide an undergraduate or graduate student an opportunity to gain technical experience in the field of structural engineering. The intern will be exposed to a variety of structural engineering items which may include building design and seismic design of equipment for DOE projects.
The position requires the collaboration with other disciplines, ability to interface with clients and contractors, follow schedules and budget commitments, work independently, possess excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to problem solve.
Merrick does not pay relocation fees or provide a housing stipend.
Required Experience
Knowledge of RISA 3D preferred
Knowledge or GTSTRUDL would be a plus
Must be currently enrolled and entering junior year or higher of undergraduate degree
Must be pursuing an engineering degree in Civil (with structural emphasis) or Structural Engineering at an A.B.E.T. accredited university.
GPA of 3.0 or higher preferred
US Citizenship is required
