Job Description:
Performs examinations and testing of materials derived from the human body of all age groups served for the purpose of providing information for the diagnosis, prevention, or treatment of any disease of impairment of, or the assessment of, the health of human beings. These examinations also include procedures to determine, measure, or otherwise describe the presence or absence of various substances or organisms in the body. Position requires the ability to develop, evaluate, and perform laboratory procedures using a high degree of independent judgment as well as integrity and accuracy in test performance and reporting of results.
Requires the ability to work under stress and good communication skills and ability to work with people. AA degree in laboratory sciences or medical laboratory technology and one year training/experience in moderate and high complexity testing resulting in a HEW certification or equivalent. Minimum one year previous hospital lab experience required. Frequent walking of about 3 miles per day; occasional lifting of 50 pounds or less; bending, stooping, or reaching; sitting for prolonged periods, and ability to distinguish appropriate colors
