EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) / Paramedic
Job Location: Oskaloosa, IA
Job Description:
Performs specialized life sustaining procedures in a hospital-based advanced care ambulance service. Responsible for providing immediate emergency care and transport of the critically ill or injured under direction of medical control physician. An EMT is an individual who has successfully completed, as a minimum, the United States Department of Transportation s Emergency Medical Technician-Ambulance curriculum, passed the department s approved written and practical examinations and is currently certified as an EMT. A Paramedic is an individual who has successfully completed the United States Department of Transportation s EMT-Paramedic curriculum, passed the board s approved written and practical examinations, and is currently certified by the board as an EMT-P. Performs duties within the ambulance service and hospital according to the level of certification. Accountable for Pre-Hospital medical care according to 147A of the Code of Iowa, hospital policies and procedures, and Medical Control protocols and orders. Accountable for acute care procedures under the supervision of an RN or Physician on the medical staff while working within the scope of practice in the hospital.
Looking for at least one year of experience.
Current state Registered Licensure EMT-B, EMT-I, Paramedic Current Chauffeur Class D License ACLS Certificate for Paramedics BCLS certificate
12 hours regular w/12 hours on call.
