Description:
The Coder will code all diagnosis and procedures after reviewing the entire medical record documentation. The coder will utilize Official Coding Guidelines for accurate and complete coding.
Qualifications required: Associate Degree in Health Information Management or Related Field required
One of the following Credentials/Licenses are required: RHIA, RHIT, CCS, CCS-P
One (1) year experience in coding in an acute care hospital perferred
Thorough knowledge of ICD-9-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding principles
Knowledge of MS-DRG/APC structure and regulatory requirements
Knowledge of Meditech and 3M Encoder Software Other comments:
- Normally Monday through Friday 8:00a 4:30 p. Work requirements may also occur before or after usual working hours.
