Market Manager, Physician Practices
POSITION TITLE: Market Manager, Physician Practices
DEPARTMENT: Physician Practices
SUPERVISOR: Regional Director, Physician Services
JOB SUMMARY: The Market Manager (Director) has primary responsibility for all aspects of the daily operations and general management of the hospital owned practice(s) and supervision of subordinate practice and business office managers.
This includes strategic planning, coordination of daily operations, and supervision of both nursing, clerical, and central business office staff to ensure delivery of quality patient care. This position also involves collaborating with other management personnel to allocate and assign duties to employees and monitor the activities and operations of all the practice(s) components to ensure the practice(s) meet all objectives and budgetary targets. Assumes the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the activities and practices in the market. Oversee clinical and patient care policies with involvement of respective physicians. Maintains an appropriate public relations program that serves the best interest of the practices and community. Ensure that the physicians and staff have the applicable training necessary for performance of their assigned duties.
Consults with the practices office managers concerning the operations of their practices to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas and/or improvement of services.
The Director will have significant involvement with financial aspects of the practices, to include - assisting with projections, month-end close processes, special analyses & projects, and budgeting. The Market Manager will work closely with the Regional Director, Physician Services, in defining goals and developing a long-term plan for the practices.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Education and Experience
1. B.A. in Business, Healthcare Administration or related degree
2. Minimum of 3 years experience in physician office or other healthcare related business
3. Practice Management and EMR knowledge and experience
4. P&L responsibilities
5. AR / Revenue Cycle Management
6. Policy and procedure development
7. Knowledge of human resource functions
8. Physician relations and communication experience
POSITION REQUIREMENTS PREFERRED:
Knowledge and Experience
1. Understanding of the clinical operational elements of physician office
2. Sufficient work experience to recognize and make appropriate judgments regarding daily clinical operational issues in a medical setting
3. Personnel supervision and management experience preferred
4. Familiarity with system used to support practice including billing and accounts receivable and scheduling
5. Knowledge of physician office operations and reimbursement
6. Experience with new practice start-up and on-boarding new providers to existing practices
7. Experience with marketing and networking physicians to generate new revenue streams and volume growth of existing service lines
8. Knowledge of governmental regulations and compliance
9. Understanding and experience with achieving and maintaining superior customer service and resolving patient grievances
Skills
1. Ability to adequately communicate concepts and training material
2. Organizational skills to keep records and recognize inefficient work processes
3. Skills in staff development sufficient to communicate constructive feedback effectively
4. Ability to interface effectively with physicians, support staff, management, and administration
5. Use of persuasion and negotiating skills sufficient to effectively influence & communicate with physicians/staff
6. Skilled at managing multiple priorities and must be self-motivated
7. Highly proficient working knowledge of Microsoft software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Windows)
8. Ability to exercise initiative, sound judgment and problem-solving techniques in the decision-making process
