This is a 25 bed hospital located in Eastern New Mexico.
Bachelors degree in Health Information Management or related field
RHIT or RHIA credential required
Previous related operational and supervisory experience
Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skill.
Excellent communication skills, collaborative interpersonal skills, and an outstanding record in clinical care and education.
Prior experience of three years or more required.
Skills & Knowledge:
Utilizes the electronic health record, health information systems, and healthcare applications and has a good working knowledge of information technology.
Reviews and updates policies and procedures that are aligned and comply with hospital and department policies and procedures and regulatory agencies.
Thorough understanding the transition to the electronic health record and core HIM functions such as document management and imaging, transcription, chart completion and coding.
Experience with the electronic health record, health information systems and healthcare applications
Expertise in healthcare compliance: knowledge of privacy and security regulations, confidentiality, laws, access and release of information practices
Actively participates in various committees such as, but not limited to, the Medical Staff/Medical Records Committee, hospital-wide Performance Improvement Committee, Documentation Improvement Committee, and enterprise-wide Electronic Health Record related Committees.
Takes steps to actively move forward from paper based health record to a fully integrated electronic health record environment.
Develops, maintains, and implements policies and procedures; evaluates and improves the effectiveness of policies and procedures and work flow.
