Job summary
- check in and verify receipt of returned merchandise
- inspect merchandise
- attach tracking information as indicated
Stage returns and store in appropriate location
- Place returned items onto scooters, dollys, and/or flat bed 4 wheel cart and move to appropriate area for further processing
- Depending on the type of return, merchandise may be moved to the shop area for repairs, holding area for merchandise needing a new delivery time, into storage racks, to outlet store staging area, etc.
- Operate the picker/forklift to transport product to appropriate storage location
- This type of forklift is operated from a standing position
- There is one step up at 15 inch height to reach the operation platform
- Use hand held scanner to scan the product label and barcode on rack to track location of products as indicated
- Place product into the appropriate storage locations and rotate product· re-wrap and/or package merchansie as indicated
- this may entail the use of an automated shrink wrap machine
- The number of pieces returned per day is variable and may range from 50 up to 200 and are typically processed among three people
Perform administrative tasks associated with processing returns
- Operate the computer / keyboard to create reports, spreadsheets, documents, memos, run reports, perform data entry, send/ receive e-mail correspondence, etc. as related to tracking, investigating, and documenting merchandise returns
- Answer and/or make telephone calls as indicated · Send faxes, file, make copies, etc.
