Job Description:
Opportunity for a tenure-track position beginning fall 2008 in Child Development and Early Childhood Education. Candidate will serve as lead faculty member to coordinate child development and early childhood education programs; supervise student field and student teaching experiences; recruit and advise students.
Qualifications:
Earned doctorate with an emphasis in early childhood development. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of teaching experience with children in a classroom setting. A Michigan ZA endorsement or other States' equivalent is preferred with knowledge and experience of early childhood development centers. Candidates should present evidence of successful college teaching, supervision of teachers, and collaboration with schools.
Responsibilities:
Teach and advise undergraduate students in early childhood certification and child development programs, develop school/college collaborative relationships related to teacher education, develop community partnerships, and apply state and national standards in the field of early childhood education.
The effective date of appointment is no later than August 15, 2008.
