BRIEF DESCRIPTION
Assist the Director of Admissions in the day-to-day functioning of the Graduate Admissions Office. Effectively recruit students for the on-campus graduate degree and certificate programs at Marygrove College to achieve the desired new student enrollment goals identified in the Marygrove College Strategic Plan and Graduate Recruitment Plan. The Graduate Admissions Office is a busy, service-oriented office that markets on-campus graduate programs, recruits prospective students, processes graduate applications, and manages the admissions process.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Supervise all full-time and part-time staff working in the Graduate Admissions Office, reinforcing a customer service mindset; address individual performance issues in a timely manner.
· Assist the Director of Admissions in developing recruitment strategies, identifying target audiences, and ensuring program awareness.
· Generate new leads/inquiries through recruitment efforts including information sessions, open houses, graduate fairs, corporate/community education fairs, campus and community events, and other activities associated with successful recruiting practices in coordination with the Director of Admissions.
· Develop and maintain relationships with business and educational institutions to assist in student identification for graduate degree programs and certificates.
· Conduct visits to community and educational agencies to provide current information on graduate academic programs available at Marygrove College, admission procedures and entrance requirements.
· Meet a weekly quota of new prospects entered into the Datatel Inquiry Database and a monthly quota of new applicants converted from within the Datatel Inquiry Database.
· Develop a thorough understanding of each graduate program’s admission requirements and curriculum, and general College admission policies.
· Build strong working relationships with key stakeholders (all academic areas representing the graduate programs, Registrar, Enrollment Center, and student services) to resolve interdepartmental issues and secure appropriate resources and commitments.
· Develop and submit an activity calendar specifying events and projects to be undertaken each year from July 1 to June 30.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Assist with coordination and planning of recruitment events and oversee the staff preparation in these events related to target graduate student recruitment.
· Submit weekly reports/summaries on recruitment and outreach activities including visits, campus tours, office appointments, special programs and activities, committee meetings, workshops, and conferences.
· Assist in implementation of supporting technology, including alignment of work processes.
· Assist in the coordination, creation, and update of all electronic and published application and recruitment materials concerning graduate admissions.
· Perform other duties from time to time as determined by the Director of Admissions.
· Understand the college’s mission; implement and abide by college policies.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Masters Degree in appropriate discipline.
· Ability to manage, lead and supervise graduate admission staff.
· Understanding and knowledge of graduate student enrollment process and distinct delivery modes.
· Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
· Exceptional organizational and problem solving skills.
· Outstanding customer service and relationship management skills.
· Outstanding ability to work in a highly interactive setting, serving and working with a culturally diverse population of students and staff.
· Computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel and technological ability to learn the College’s database system, Datatel.
· Valid driver’s license and vehicle available for recruitment travel.
· Available for regular evening and weekend hours, programs and activities.
