JOB SUMMARY

The Coordinator of Allied Health Continuing Education will develop continuing education opportunities
in all areas of allied health. The coordinator will teach courses in allied health continuing education and
will oversee and manage continuing education for nurses and KDHE health occupations classes.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

1. Associates Degree required; BSN preferred
2. Registered Nurse with Kansas license
3. Five-years experience in nursing
4. Two years nursing experience in long-term care
5. Experience in teaching/education preferred

RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Coordinate / Teach (online, didactic, clinical) at least one allied health class (CNA, CMA) per
semester.
2. Oversee online component of CNA courses.
3. Manage KDHE sponsorship, including reporting requirements and record keeping.
4. Recruit instructors to teach allied health and continuing education classes.
5. Schedule allied health and continuing education classes at times that are best for college,
instructors, and potential students.
6. Develop a schedule of allied health classes for an academic year, providing specific class
information for each semester as requested by the Vice President of Instructional Services.
7. Provide support for allied health and continuing education instructors, including orientation to
college, KDHE and/or KSBN requirements, materials and supplies, and orientation to learning
management system, if needed.
8. Orient new instructors for KDHE classes to curriculum and sponsorship requirements.
9. Provide continuing education instructors with guidelines for class setup, and assist as needed
with classes, and learning management system.

10. Supervise instructors as required by KDHE sponsorship and KSBN providership.
11. Develop, maintain, schedule, and assess clinical sites.
12. Oversees the lab area for needed repairs, organization, supplies and scheduling.
13. Keeps a calendar of lab use that includes CNA, ADN and PN students.
14. Monitor enrollment process to ensure qualified students enter the program(s)
15. Submit appropriate paperwork to state agencies to certify courses for continuing education
units.
16. Work within continuing education budget to order materials and supplies.
17. Perform other duties as assigned.

LENGTH OF CONTRACT:
12-month

SALARY:

Salary commensurate with experience and level of educational attainment.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION:
Supports the Director of Nursing and Allied Health to expand
the continuing education opportunities available in the allied
health area for this Manhattan region.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the policy
on evaluation of classified/instructional staff with a 90-day probationary period.
