JOB SUMMARY:

The Student Services Clerk will serve as the front line of the main office and provide customer service
and direct persons to the correct department/person. They will be responsible for entering data into the
student database and processing student service paperwork. The Student Services Clerk wil be in charge
of MATCs mail and packages as well as office supplies for the student services team. The Clerk will work
constantly to improve his/her communication and listening skills and will work collaboratively with
fellow colleagues to maintain and exemplify the highest level of professionalism. The Clerk will be
responsible for providing support services to the student service team and students as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum Qualifications
1. High school graduate or equivalent.
2. Minimum of two years full-time work-related experience.
3. Proficiency in computer applications including, but not limited to, word processing, spreadsheet
and database.
4. Effective oral and written communication skills, including ability to interact professionally with
students, staff, faculty and the general public.
5. Strong organization skills with ability to multi-task.
6. Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
7. Ability to abide by FERPA regulations in regards to student information.
8. Physical and emotional requirements (the incumbent may be expected to perform the fol owing
during any part of the working day): speaking, listening, hand/eye coordination for computer
use and consistency of temperament.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Associates Degree
2. Previous office experience

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Greet students and general public, direct persons to correct location/department or person.
2. Answer multi-line telephone, screen and direct phone cal s.
3. Handle general questions about the col ege and provide published material.
4. Process incoming admissions applications, including online and paper submissions.
5. File and maintain student records.
6. Process incoming transcripts and test scores by entering information into student database.
7. Process requests for student transcripts including semester processing of transcripts.
8. Accurate receipting of student and customer payments.


9. Meter and distribute incoming and outgoing mail and packages, notifying recipients of
deliveries.
10. Receive, direct and relay telephone and FAX messages.
11. Schedule student testing and maintain and update appointments for student services staff.
12. Process continuing education enrol ments and payments.
13. Provide assistance to Director of Financial Aid and Director of Admissions as needed.
14. Assist with student services events on campus, including enrol ment/registration, Open House
and Welcome Week.
15. Stock office supplies for student services staff, order supplies as needed/necessary.
16. Consistently abide by FERPA regulation in regards to student information.
17. Assist in inventory of MATC gear.
18. Provide nightly closing duties if applicable.
19. Maintain a pleasant appearance of the reception area.
20. Attend all required meetings and trainings.
21. Perform all other duties as assigned by MATC supervisor(s).

LENGTH OF CONTRACT:
12 month 3/4 time position

SALARY:

Salary commensurate with experience and level of educational attainment.

GENERAL STATEMENT OF FUNCTION: To provide and maintain good customer service as front line of
MATCs main office and to provide assistance to student
services team.

EVALUATION: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with the provisions of the policy
on evaluation of classified/instructional staff.
