Computer Aided Design Systems Manager

Req. Background:
BSEE/BSME/BSCS Degree with a minimum of 2 years experience in computer aided design and engineering archives systems. This person must be very experienced and knowledgeable in the use of AutoCAD Mechanical, SolidWorks and PDM software.
Position Description:
The Computer Aided Design Systems Manager (CAD Systems Manager) will provide guidance to engineers and designers in the use of the standard design tools, methodologies and Michelin standards for AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SmarTeam, and other engineering software tools. This person will manage and lead projects to improve the use of these software tools in the Michelin North American engineering offices. They will train and qualify design engineers and drafters in the software and design standards used by Michelin. This position will work closely with the Information Technology department to integrate engineering software systems into the overall information systems architecture.
- Requires excellent verbal and written communications skills within both the technical office environment and production floor.
- Requires familiarity with computer systems, hardware, software, workstations, and servers.
- French Communication Skill is a requirement.
- Requires the Ability to manage several different projects and multiple issues at a time and prioritize tasks appropriately.
- Requires travel on a regular basis to the manufacturing facilities in North America and occasionally outside of North America.
Responsibilities:
- SmarTeam implementation and maintenance. Migration of legacy data into SmarTeam system. Provide PLM training and support to a global user base.
- Provide day-to-day support to Engineering group for all CAD systems. Includes but not limited to SmarTeam, Solidworks & AutoCAD
- Manage training needs of all CAD users based on current and projected roles, ensuring that all training is scheduled and completed before capabilities are needed. This will include both internal and external training needs.
- Assist Design Engineers with various phases of CAD related systems needs, to include: new version testing and implementation, coordinating upgrades/installation of new releases of current software versions, customization of software and operating system needs.
- Assist Design engineers in resolving CAD related problems and issues.
- Work with Information Technology department to integrate CAD systems into the overall information system architecture.
