Electrical Engineer

Statement of Function:
- Material Handling and Automation Engineer. Has the mission develop functional and technical specifications, automation design, PLC programming and material handling accomplishment and other design projects in NA manufacturing plants. This is typically accomplished through management of material handling contractors.
For the assigned machines/ material handling systems, this individual will provide support for:
- Assistance in technical problem solving/analysis of existing equipment.
- Liaison between factory, quality groups, PIT teams, equipment suppliers, and other engineering groups to assure mutual customer-supplier system requirement understanding.
- Develop or define functional specifications for new machines, systems, or improvement modifications.
- Develop system layouts and technical specifications to achieve function requirements to MNA and Groupe equipment standards.
- Provide project management support for new machines, systems, or improvement modifications.
- Start-up assistance and qualification/acceptance support for new machines/systems.
- Assurance of complete and current technical documentation.
- Develop training material for new and existing technology and provide training to factory personnel.
- Provide formal documentation to support the above activities and maintain proper document management consistent with Quality System.
Qualifications:
- BSEE, or equivalent. Automation Design skills and the ability to deal with both electrical, electronic and mechanical measurement/material handling equipment.
- Three to five years' industrial experience in material handling, measurement and testing equipment. Measurement expertise in theory, operation, and maintenance of measurement equipment to achieve a desired measurement capability. Industrial experience in material handling projects, preferably in a Michelin plant environment.
- Material Handling expertise in theory, operation, and maintenance of conveyance and storage equipment to achieve a desired plant process capability.
- Applicant must have excellent interpersonal and leadership skills. Must be able to develop positive relationships with clients.
