Description
Initially this person will lead Michelin Research and Development efforts on development and support of simulation methods, analysis techniques, and/or test procedures in a specific tire performance area (such as noise and comfort, endurance, rolling resistance, handling, traction or wear). Provide technical support to the tire development community.
Qualifications:
• PhDs ME degree or Masters ME degree with relevant research type of experience.
• Demonstrated analytical skills adapted to modeling physical mechanisms (e.g., dynamics, continuum mechanics or heat transfer) and/or systems (e.g., vehicle dynamics)
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Matlab or C++
• Experience applying numerical simulation, including FEA (especially for non- linear materials, and large strain situation), is useful.
• Ability to work with operators and test engineers in definition, development and execution of new tire testing procedures and analysis.
• Basic statistical capability, including linear and nonlinear regression is desirable.
• Experience with testing procedures and test machinery is advantageous.
• French language skill is a plus.
