Statement of Function:
Provide quality engineering support for an assigned area in the manufacturing process.
Responsibilities:
As an on-site resource, a quality engineer will:
- Assist the plants in initiatives to improve quality in the tire manufacturing process.
- Provide technical assistance to manufacturing facilities as they industrialize new technology.
- Apply technical troubleshooting skills to existing processes with production quality problems.
- Respond to day-to-day quality issues.
- Complete projects with a mid- to long-term focus.
- Assume responsibility for new material testing and validation.
- Implement quality initiatives for the guarantee and control of the product.
- Serve as a Quality resource working cross functionally in cost reduction initiatives.
Requirements:
- BS degree in a technical field, preferably mechanical,chemical engineering, or chemistry
- Self-motivated, hands-on attitude
- Willingness to work in manufacturing environment
- Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office applications
