Mechanical Engineer/ Construction Dept ME (Greenville,SC)-13000182
Description
The Mechanical Engineer provides project management and technical support for the design and installation of mechanical infrastructure upgrades to support production equipment improvements and plant expansions.
Responsibilities:
- Participates in the development of mechanical designs for process chilled/cooling water, steam boiler systems, hydraulic groups, compressed air equipment, HVAC, industrial ventilation and aspiration, fire protection systems, and plumbing.
- Evaluates current process and facilities to develop mechanical system solutions for the introduction of new processes.
- Develops project costs estimates and detailed Microsoft Project schedules for proposed equipment improvement construction projects.
- Oversees the development of the design, installation, and start up procedures for the project and maintains the construction documents (includes drawings, specification, operating guidelines, etc.)
- Supervises the installation and initial operation of equipment using Michelin personnel and outside contractor services.
- Provides technical support to project leaders on problem resolution and training on new systems.
- Travel to Michelin facilities throughout North America as needed for project development and implementation.

Qualifications
- BS Mechanical Engineering
- Professional Engineering License and NCEES record preferred
- Demonstrated leadership experience
- Demonstrated strong organizational skills and project management ability
- Strong skills in written and verbal communication
- Demonstrated ability to set and achieve goals with minimum supervision
- Demonstrated solid teamwork, communication, and planning skills required.
