Job Summary:

Michelin is currently searching for a Safety and Environmental Manager at our facility in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. The Safety and Environmental Manager manages the Safety/Environmental/Security department and provides expertise to the facility in the areas of safety, regulatory compliance, industrial hygiene, workers` compensation, environmental protection, security, fire protection, ergonomics and community relations regarding emergency services organizations.

Responsibilities:
- Supports and partners with the facility management team in providing a safe and healthy work environment
- Develops, maintains and implements general safety policies and procedures.
- Ensures compliance to basic safety rules - LOTOTO / Training / confined space / working at heights / Combustible dust / Hot work permitting / mobile equipment safety
- Develops and informs entire site on environmental safety and health training programs ensuring employee`s knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety and environmental regulations.
- Analyzes data, develops programs, and executes the strategic direction for continuous improvement of the facility safety and response plans
- Develops, implements and coordinates all Industrial Hygiene, Fire Prevention/Protection, Security and Ergonomic programs. Includes all required training, record keeping, monitoring and reporting including EPA and OSHA reports
- Manages Worker`s Compensation and Early Return to Work Program in cooperation with the local HR and Medical departments
- Acts as liaison with the corporate safety & health group being responsive to audits and training programs
- Manages the entire EHS staff for the site including objective setting, development of employees and career management

Qualifications

Requirements:
- BA/BS in Occupational Safety or related technical field
- 5-7 years of experience in safety or related function in a manufacturing environment
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ability to achieve
