Job Summary:

Michelin is currently searching for a Product Design and Industrialization Engineer. The Product Design and Industrialization Engineer`s mission is to design and industrialize tires that meet product and industrial performances for replacement market and/or OEM customers. A first assignment could be in any of the main design platforms for Michelin, BF Goodrich, and/or Uniroyal tires which could include passenger car, light truck, heavy truck, or aircraft tires. The position offers a balance of design and manufacturing, with progressive levels of responsibilities. Initial training will include formal classes, on-the-job mentoring under an experienced engineer, and a 3-4 month assignment in a manufacturing plant.
- Define the cured and uncured tire design models respecting the desired level of standardization
- Create CAD drawings of cured and uncured tires and tire components
- Lead Quality Planning for assigned tires and projects, allowing the factory to manufacture a tire that conforms to the industrial performance targets
- Translate tire designs into manufacturing specifications
- Industrialize the tire that respects the target timing, optimizes product and process compatibility, and conforms with the industrial performance targets
- Evaluate prototype tire build results for conformance to design and manufacturing criteria
- Provide technical support to the factories to ensure continual improvement of assigned tires; occasional travel to factories across North America

- Bachelor`s / Master`s degree in an engineering field.
- At least 2 years of design experience - can include co-op, or internship experience.

- Bachelor`s / Master`s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- CAD experience
- Involvement with vehicles
- Hands on approach
- Previous manufacturing exposure through co-op or work experience
