The Montgomery College, Physical Therapy Assistant Program, Takoma Park/Silver Spring Campus is seeking a part-time Clinical Lab Assistant faculty member to act as the second instructor in the laboratory. The faculty member is expected to assist with the supervision and skill practice sessions of physical therapist assistant students. The faculty member will also participate in practical examination scoring.
Part-time faculty positions are Non-Bargaining without benefits.
Required Qualifications:
Licensed (or licensure eligible) Physical Therapist or Physical Therapist Assistant with a minimum of one year of clinical practice is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicants with clinical education experience with either physical therapist or physical therapist assistant students and APTA clinical instructor certification are preferred.
Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) students participate in lab classes which they must practice clinical skills. PTA skills laboratories meet in 2 - 3 hour time blocks each semester with weekly meeting dates generally on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Practical exams are administered on Fridays 2-3 times each semester for each lab class. Skills instructed in labs include those relevant to entry level physical therapist assistant practice such as therapeutic exercise, massage, transfer and gait training, and therapeutic modalities. If interested, this individual could also assist with classroom lecture and other educational activities in the PTA Program.
