Job Vacancy Description:
Montgomery College, Auxiliary Services, Rockville Campus, has need for a full-time Child Care Lead Teacher, #5130. Work schedule is Monday – Friday, 8:30 am – 5:00 pm with flexibility to work other hours, including occasional evening and weekend training hours, based on service and program needs of the Center. This position is funded from alternative funding.
Non-bargaining. Participation in a retirement plan is a condition of employment.

Job Summary:
Position is responsible for planning, coordinating, and implementing a developmentally appropriate curriculum program following the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) standards and the Maryland State Department of Education – Child Care licensing requirements.
Education & Training: Position requires:
- An Associate’s degree or equivalent (60 credits hours or more) in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Current First Aid and CPR certifications.
- A Bachelor’s degree is preferred.
As a condition of employment, a criminal background check is required. In addition, as a condition of employment, an official transcript of degree is required at the time of employment.
Qualifications: Position requires:
- Working knowledge of NAEYC accreditation process or similar accreditation process.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
The following are desired qualifications:
- Ability to interact effectively with a diverse population.
- Teambuilding skills.
Experience: Position requires experience:
- Preparing child evaluations and assessments.
- Staff supervision and training.
- In classroom design.
- In customer service.
- Experience working with children ages 2.5 to 5 years-old in a mixed-age group setting is desired. Head Start experience is preferred.
