Instructional Technology Web Specialist

Job Location: Beaver Dam, WI

Description:
Applications are being accepted for a part-time Instructional Technology Web Specialist at Moraine Park Technical College, Beaver Dam campus. This position provides production services and training to staff and faculty for the development of course materials in the web/computer environments and the use of Instructional Technologies. The hours of this position are Monday through Wednesday 12:30 p.m. - 7:15 p.m. and Thursday 12:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., for a total of 24.75 hours per week. This position works 52 weeks per year.

Characteristic Duties / Responsibilities:
1.Provide production assistance for all faculty for the development of course materials in the web or computer-based environments, including the integration of voice, video and data.
2.Make recommendations on the selection of authoring languages, platforms and peripherals needed to produce quality electronically-delivered programming.
3.Design, develop and deliver curriculum and instructional programs to train MPTC faculty, staff, students, distance learners and community members, including business and industry, in the use of established and emerging technologies.
4.Work with Instructional Design and Program Development staff and faculty in producing materials that efficiently and effectively meet education objectives.
5.Participate in planning and implementation of IP and related technology, provide technical support for the MPTC fiber optic network, satellite systems, and cable TV channels, and serve as technical liaison with service providers.
6.Coordinate and set up audio, television and other media presentation systems (i.e. LCD projection, public address, etc.).
7.Operate and integrate traditional and computer-based audio and video production equipment, as well as other media related systems.
8.Orient, in-service, and train staff in the use of audio, video, and other media-related equipment.
9.Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
1.Strong working knowledge of alternative delivery technologies such as IP conferencing, satellite systems, media presentation systems, and online course platforms.
2.Thorough knowledge of desktop computing, peripheral installation, and network environment.
3.Working knowledge of video and audio production to include all phases from planning and scripting through production and post-production.
4.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, students and the general public.
5.Possession of a valid Wisconsin driver's license.
6.Ability to organize and prioritize multiple assignments.
7.Strong written and oral communication skills.
8.Working knowledge of Windows operation system and Microsoft Office applications.
9.Ability to use web/computer-based Course Management Systems. Ability to use Macromedia Dreamweaver/Macromedia Flash and Microsoft FrontPage preferred.

Training and Experience:
1.Bachelor's Degree in Instructional Technology or related field.
2.Two years experience in Instructional Technology, to include experience with alternative delivery technologies and producing web-based technologies/computer-based technologies in an educational environment.
3.Any combination of equivalent training and experience which provides desired knowledge, skills and abilities.
