JOB DESCRIPTION:
Under the supervision of the Manager of IT Infrastructure within a Microsoft client/server environment, install, configure, maintain, implement upgrades and patches, troubleshoot, and back up and recover databases and instances, including Oracle, MS SQL Server, and MS Access; ensure the operation, security, recovery, integrity and accessibility of Agency databases; monitor, tune, and optimize databases for performance; administer database and user security; develop and document database management policies, standards, and procedures; provide support for applications development and testing. For the Oracle Human Resources Management System (HRMS), implement and document application system administration set-ups and processes; provide system administration expertise and assist in ensuring ongoing daily operations. Recommend database-related hardware and software; implement software tools to support Agency needs; prepare disaster recovery procedures; maintain database and HRMS licenses. Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) year college degree in Computer Science or related field, and five (5) years of database management and system administration experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience that meets the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SKILLS:
Extensive knowledge of Oracle database 9i, Microsoft SQL Server, and related design, methods, and tools, such as TOAD; knowledge of Oracle Enterprise Manager, SQL programming, and the Oracle Human Resources Management system, including the e-Business Suite; ability to work under tight time constraints and with minimal supervision. Knowledge of Oracle 10g a plus. Professional and technical certifications a plus.
