This position is solely supported by the funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Sandy Relief Fund. Under supervision, perform a variety of assignments related to real estate loan closings; provide assistance to paralegal staff with all aspects of a loan closing including maintenance of project files, general assistance with the closing process and assistance with post-closing matters; work as a Closing Assistant will also include assistance to the Director of Loan Closings on project specific assignments as needed; perform research, draft memoranda and assist in preparation of documents in connection with loan closing process; assist staff with document production and other aspects of discovery; prepare Discharges of Mortgages; prepare Final Mortgage Close-Outs, including the obtaining and following up on requests for post-closing documentation, maintenance of orderly files, and the processing of files for storage.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:
Two (2) year college degree; five (5) years of progressively responsible experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience that meets the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
SKILLS:
General knowledge of HMFA program guidelines and administrative policies; knowledge of research methods and procedures; ability to organize and accomplish multiple assignments simultaneously.
