JOB DESCRIPTION:

Under the supervision of Manager of IT Infrastructure, supervise or perform network analysis, design and engineering; architect and lead the implementation of the local area network, VLANs, and core switch configuration, network security, Internet connectivity and access, the email system, server and desktop virtualization, remote connectivity to Citrix and VMWare servers, Internet services and security of web, DNS, FTP, VPN; responsible for server management and Active Directory; backup and recovery and disaster recovery (DR) planning; set up and test connectivity of business applications at DR facility; ensure timely hardware and software acquisition and upgrades using a project approach; assess and enhance Data Center and DR equipment configurations and controls; troubleshoot and resolve network problems, ensure sufficient capacity for service delivery; supervise and coach Network Administrators; establish best practices and controls, including documentation and change management; ensure that network-related issues logged through the IT Help Desk are properly diagnosed and resolved; provide/coordinate support to HMFA employees; oversee vendor and consultant activities, ensure that plans and statements of work are well defined, and monitor deliverables; and perform related duties as required.  Work beyond regular working hours, including weekends, as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE:

Four (4) year college degree in Management Information Science or related field; five (5) years of Network experience, five (5) years of supervisory experience; or an equivalent combination of both education and experience which meets the required knowledge, skills and abilities.  Certifications in Microsoft/Cisco networking or security, ITIL, project management, or related areas, a plus.

SKILLS:

Extensive knowledge, skills, and experience in Windows Server 2008, Group Policy and Active Directory management, VMWare Virtual Infrastructure, Exchange 2010 management with Outlook, Cisco networking and firewall configurations and security, TCP/IP, AppleTalk, Veritas NetBackup, VPN, Linux and remote access; storage management; network and web security; disaster recovery site implementation.  Skilled in Internet and intranet practices, tools, security and controls and in web server management and Microsoft IIS for web services; ability to supervise the work performance of others; ability to prepare and interpret complex information and make and implement appropriate recommendations; ability to learn, embrace, and integrate new technologies; ability to maintain a positive work atmosphere, communicate effectively orally and in writing, and to listen actively.
