Business Systems Engineer Sr

Summary Statement:
Applies extensive knowledge of principles, theories and concepts and industry practices and standards to perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk and supportability and effectiveness analysis for total systems.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to complex problems or assignments requiring independent judgment and ingenuity to lead the definition of new systems and re-engineering of business processes enabling increased business efficiency and profitable growth. Develops and maintains a complete understanding of current business processes and industry best practices. Provides specialized technical leadership to assess current business processes against industry best practices and identifies new business models improving business efficiency or enabling profitable growth. Determines the best solution to meet the requirements of the business community. Develops system requirements, workflow and systems analysis. Plans or assists in planning system development and deployment consistent with software design standards. Researches, designs, develops and/or manages upgrades of enterprise-wide software to meet business community requirements. Establishes standards for development and maintenance of new and existing products. Analyzes, enhances, installs, tests and modifies enterprise-wide operating systems such as, UNIX and applications such as SAP and Peoplesoft for both new and existing systems. Corrects or assists in correcting program errors, prepares operating instructions, complies documentation of program development and analyze system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls. Revises existing systems and procedures to correct deficiencies and maintain more effective data handling.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
BUSINESS SYSTEMS ENGINEER SENIOR
Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience:
Bachelor level degree in a Business or Technical discipline from an accredited college or university and seven (7) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience must include five (5) years experience in the specific operating system language used by the Company in an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems environment. Must have a strong background in a specific business process area such as Finance, Engineering, Human Resources and Supply Chain Management. Experience in aerospace maintenance and repair operations is strongly desired. A graduate degree is preferred.
Level of Supervision Required:
Works under general direction. Receives guidance as to results expected and to resolve complex problems. Exercises latitude in determining activities and approaches within moderate to wide parameters.
Communication and Special Skills:
Communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms. Excellent verbal and written skills and the ability to develop and deliver executive level presentations.Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel. Exceptional interpersonal and team building skill and the ability to transform that data into new business processes using solid analytical, problem identification, and resolution skills. Knowledge of SAP package implementation and workflow configuration. Strong working knowledge of ABAP, SQL, and VB scripting. Knowledge of Business Intelligence tools, OLAP Decision Support Analysis and data movement tools.
Skills and Work Requirements
The Senior Systems Engineer for the The NORDAM Group will provide leadership and focus for the following activities:

Job Qualifications
Experience working with multi divisional engineering business communities in implementing and providing technical support for engineering business processes in aerospace manufacturing and maintenance and repair operations is required.
Bachelor level degree in an engineering or computer science discipline from an accredited college or university and seven (7) to ten (10) years related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience must include five (5) years direct hands on experience in the area of information systems supporting the engineering business community. Experience in an integrated systems environment involving the combination of engineering tools with SAP PLM with core extensions into packages such as Catia supporting the EBOMs and MBOMs is highly preferred.
Ability to formulate and concisely present strategy and project plans in a manner that builds confidence and wins support of a technical engineering business community. Ability to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms.
Exceptional interpersonal and team building skill and the ability to implement and support new engineering business processes using solid analytical, problem identification, and resolution skills.
Knowledge of SAP package implementation and workflow configuration is strongly desired.
Strong working knowledge of UNIX (AIX) and Microsoft based platforms supporting engineering applications is strongly desired.
Proven track record in implementation and technical support – CATIA, CFD, PATRAN, NASTRAN applications is desired.
Experience with Dassault product line (Catia v4, Catia v5, DMU) is strongly desired.
