Manufacturing Engineer II

Job Location: Wichita, KS

Job Description Summary Statement:
Applies advanced knowledge of principles, theories and concepts and industry standards and practices to the planning, directing and coordination of manufacturing processes.

Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
Develops solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity in the planning, scheduling and manufacturing engineering fields that require judgment and ingenuity. Performs work under general management direction. Sets up part numbers, develops bills of material and routers, completes requisitions for purchase and vendor parts, adds all work orders, reschedules work orders and other like duties. Functions as the manufacturing project manager for all assigned areas and provides technical leadership to others as required. Reviews and evaluates product requests from customer for conformance to engineering principles, customer requirements, quality standards, and specifications. Coordinates the design to meet customer requirements and discusses proposal with customer representatives, engineers, and other personnel. Confers with management in planning and design staff concerning product design and tooling to ensure efficient production methods. May provide tooling specifications and designs as required. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluates products according to specifications and quality standards. Estimates production time, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Evaluates, and improves manufacturing methods. Confers with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes. Applies statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential. This position may provide administrative and technical leadership over other employees in the department.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Formal Education, Training, Professional Certification and Work Experience: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university and three (3) to six (6) years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Communication and Special Skills: Communicate effectively using electronic media and in written and verbal forms. Make telephone and direct personal contact with internal and external personnel and make formal presentations to small or large groups. Competent in the use of standard software applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.

Skills and Work Requirements:
* Must have experience with Microsoft applications
* SAP expereience preferred
* Must have strong problem solving skills
* Must be able to work as an effective part of a team
* Lean and/or 6-Sigma experience preferred
* Must have experience creating bills of materials and routings for manufactured products
* Must have experience with standard manufacturing processes
* Experience in executive A/C interiors preferred
* Must be US Citizen or Permanant Resident
