Great opp at greowing food mfg to handle all the Food Safety matters. This position reports to the departmental Director of Food Safety and Quality Assurance. Paid relo & good benefits package.

JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Support the implementation of all food safety, food quality and sanitation programs
  • Ensure compliance to companys Food Safety, Quality and Sanitation policies, procedures and specifications
  • Carry out food safety and quality assessments including validation of manufacturing processes such as HAACP, FSMA, Food Safety Plans, Food Quality Plans, Environmental Microbiological Monitoring programs
  • Proactively identify potential and emerging food safety, quality and regulatory issues and develop strategies to investigate and respond
  • Support the manufacturing facility in meeting food safety and quality objectives, goals, strategies and measures
  • Oversee food safety and quality individuals and departmental capabilities including hiring, training and other growth developments
  • Support continuous improvement in the internal GMP, Food Safety and Quality Management System audits
  • Facilitate the investigation and resolution of escalated plant issues including quality holds and FDA/USDA Regulatory matters
QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Bachelors degree in Chemistry, Biochemical, Biology, Microbiology, Food Science or similar
  2. Minimum 5 years of hands-on management or supervisory experience in Quality Assurance programs and Food Safety
  3. Must have knowledge of HACCP, SQF, & Food Safety, hygiene & sanitation procedures, safety requirements, food manufacturing regulations (USDA, FDA), GMP
  4. Demonstrated hands-on management experience with the ability and skills to train, coach and mentor staff
  5. Ability to effectively influence seniors, peers and subordinates
  6. Auditing skills/experience
  7. Solid problem solving, project management and multi-tasking skills
  8. Managing and budgeting: Plan on budget spending and maintain waste elimination posture

Education:
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
