Voice Systems Engineer

Fully responsible for the design, configuration, implementation and support of the local and wide area networks. Tasks include testing and evaluating of the current Voice network infrastructure to ensure proper performance and maximum uptime. The position will support the global everyday troubleshooting and support of local and wide area Voice networks. Back new project implementations within project scope and schedule. Provide Help Desk Level 2&4 support and any other duties as given.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Voice Systems Senior Engineer responsibilities

  1. Configuration of Cisco voice infrastructure utilizing Cisco Provisioning Manager and Cisco Unity Connection Voicemail system
  2. Work with other IT team associates to fulfill a Cisco Voice Engineer role, and schedule and prioritize activities on projects involving the deployment of application and software
  3. Knowledge of a variety of Cisco Call Manager revisions and Cisco Unity Voicemail system
  4. Documentation and assessment of existing Voice and Data infrastructure
  5. Reviewing Cloud technologies for Infrastructure solution alternatives Experience in working with QoS and Voice Networks
  6. Knowledge with following change management and change control processes
  7. Familiarity with 802.1x, Cisco ACS, PKI, EAP.
  8. Understanding of Cisco ASA Firewalls (8.x or later), VPN, PKI, and AAA.
  9. Work closely to support any technical assessments of telephony related technologies
  10. Provide steadfast 24/7 support for all the facilities within client`s service territory
  11. Support, monitor, configure, implement and document current local and wide area networks (including both physical and logical structures) within the companys environment
  12. Troubleshoot and manage calls/tickets from the technical services group and support with network administration
  13. Vital role in the engineering department responsible for the production Data and VoIP networks consisting of multiple interconnected sites
  14. Planning, Designing and Implementation of key Voice and Data Network upgrades
  15. Participate in office relocations, expansions, and other infrastructure changes
  16. Provide investigation of network configuration and related documentation. Monitor systems for network alerts and events so rapid response can be provided and problems can be proactively addressed
  17. Uphold relationship with vendors, consultants and ensure that network values and deliverables are met
  18. Preserve the process involved in administration, maintenance, security, backup, and recovery
  19. Work with technical support, communications support, and vendors to resolve problems
  20. Expand security knowledge of banking and workgroup software and to maintain current in network, mainframe, client server, and internet/intranet platforms
  21. Documenting policies, processes and procedures of new and current duties
  22. Bring about an IP Telephony refresh and rollout of VoIP phones across the enterprise
  23. Assembly, installation and configuration of voice and networks
QUALIFICATIONS

Skills and/or Qualifications:

  1. Six (6) or more years related experience or more
  2. High School Diploma or Bachelor`s Degree in Computer Science or related field
  3. Experience installing, configuring, customizing and supporting enterprise technologies such as (SIP, IPC, CUCM, UCCE, LAN/WAN Routers, Five9 etc.)
  4. Provide good judgment, implement solutions, and resolve conflicts, all in a multi-tasked team environment
  5. Project Management skills, completing tasks within budget and on time
  6. Extensive knowledge of subnetting
  7. Solid understanding of routing protocols BGP, OSPF, & EIGRP, layer 2 protocols RSTP and vPC
  8. Experience with Cisco DMVPN, UCCX, IPSEC, GRE, Access control list (ACLs), VRF, Port Security, Traffic Shaping, Priority Queuing, Class of Service (CoS), Quality of Service (QoS) and VoIP, Design, provisioning and troubleshooting of WAN and LAN connectivity technologies, and WAN Acceleration technologies
  9. Network monitoring and troubleshooting - SolarWinds, PRTG, Cisco Prime, Wireshark
  10. Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP Voice), Network Administrator

Education:
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
