JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION OVERVIEW:

The LDAR Specialist will assist operations in achieving goals with respect to environmental compliance in our operations by specializing in Federal and State air quality regulations such as permitting, regulatory applicability, air compliance reporting, and GHG reporting. This person will communicate with Environmental Specialists, Maintenance Supervisors, and Scheduler/Planners to ensure that leak/ leak repair information is recorded in systems database to maintain compliance with NSPS OOOOa.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Perform OGI surveys/resurveys on leaks in various location sites
  • Record survey data in management system
  • Conduct necessary OGI surveys on a quarterly basis
  • Maintain the Area Monitoring Plan with observation paths as compressor stations change and are added
  • Calibrate equipment as needed such as weather conditions
  • Support in monitoring NRSP OOOOa LDAR Program
  • Communicate with Maintenance Groups regarding leak repair status, leak repair methods
  • Follow approval process for inputting leaks in the DOR list
  • The LDAR Specialist must have knowledge in Federal and State air quality regulations that affect all oil and gas operations, such as permitting, regulatory applicability, and overall air compliance support
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required
QUALIFICATIONS

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS):

Education & License:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Maintain a valid drivers license to include a safe driving record satisfactory to the company

Experience:

  • Previous LDAR experience
  • Minimum direct experience in the oil and gas, petrochemical, or refining industries
  • 5 years of direct air permitting experience (preferred)

Skills/Competencies:

  • Ability to think critically, solve problems independently and exercise excellent judgment and common sense
  • A collaborative personality, ready to work in teams and with others to solve problems
  • Ability to interface effectively with all levels within the company as well as organizations outside the company (regulatory agencies, contractors, consultants)
  • Ability to organize and work self-sufficiently given direction and resources
  • Must have understanding and proficiency of emission calculation methodology
  • An organized and detail-oriented self-starter with a strong work ethic
  • Intermediate computer skills (Proficiency in MS Office Suite to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook)

Additional or Preferred Qualifications

  • Ability to travel to various onsite locations
  • BS degree from a 4-year accredited University
