Global chemical company is seeking an Indirect Procurement Specialist for their facility in St Louis. May also provide occasional support for 2 other facilities. JOB DESCRIPTION
Person will not be buying raw materials/chemicals but will buy parts and supplies and manage vendor contracts.
Sources indirect goods and services, ensuring competitive and high quality supply for multiple plants.
For assigned categories within region (developing necessary strategic and commercial aspects and coordinating implementation within region)
Communicate with and obtain buy in from site managers and keep principals informed regarding cost development and supply issues.
Will develop sourcing strategies and negotiate supply agreements with various suppliers
Monitor supplier performance and seek ways to cut costs.
Optimize TCO (total cost of ownership)
Identify and drive operational improvements.
Bachelors degree, in Finance, Economics, Engineering and/or MBA.
Minimum 3 years of experience in Indirect Procurement for an industrial/ manufacturing facility. Chemical industry experience a plus.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as strong interpersonal skills; Expert in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Power Point and Word
Procurement experience of supplies or equipment supporting CAPEX Projects desired.
Should have good negotiation skills with a track record of negotiating supply agreements with various vendors and suppliers as well as evaluating supplier performance and seeking ways to cut costs.
Identifying and implementing cost savings at sites for indirect goods and services
Experience with SAP desired
Excellent communication skills. Other languages are a strong asset
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
