JOB DESCRIPTION

Our client headquartered in the Grand Rapids, MI area is seeking a Payroll Services Manager. This is a growing company and chance to lead and influence the growth and expansion. You will be responsible for the effective management and profitable operation of the payroll services function. Candidate must possess multi-state experience within a large corporate environment where experience processing payroll for multiple locations and prior management of multiple staff is a must. Will report to Director of HR Operations. Dont wait for this opportunity to be a part of an excellent team! Competitive compensation and benefit package.

Key competencies required:

Multi-state payroll and tax experience

A deep understanding of payroll compliance and payroll tax laws with the ability to apply the knowledge to the set-up and processing of the payroll system

Experience in working with automated payroll systems

Excellent computer software skills and data entry skills

Excellent reporting skills with prior experience in payroll reporting systems

Efficiency improvements automation of payroll processes

Implementing payroll controls necessary to ensure accuracy

Year-end reporting activities

QUALIFICATIONS

Qualifications:

5+ years of progressive payroll management experience

Strong leadership qualities

Experience with Payroll, HRIS, and Reporting systems

Bachelor degree or relative experience and education is desirable

CPP designation preferred

Ability to maintain discretion and manage confidential information

Strong analytical, math, and critical thinking skills

Ability to prioritize and handle multiple and varied job functions simultaneously

Flexibility of schedule to handle high peak times and to work well under pressure

Analyze information to assess current and future financial statuses

Review costs for optimal budget planning

Evaluate reporting systems and collection procedures
