REPORTS TO: Director of R&D
Our client is an industry leaders in providing innovative heat transfer equipment to industrial and commercial users. This includes schools, factories and industrial processors.
The RD&E group (research, development & engineering) is a team of innovate engineers, programmers and technicians, tasked to design and develop high efficiency and cost-optimized new heat transfer products that cover a wide range of applications. The global RD&E center supports global operations and is located in Pulaski, NY. The Pulaski facility is a short commute from Syracuse, just 30vmin from the 481-81 interchange.
To provide our client with new control systems platforms using the latest technologies. Our client is seeking to increase its development capabilities and capacity. These new controls systems are needed for new products, product test support and for manufacturing automation.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to provide direction in all facets of new controls platforms. As a member of the RD&E team, this new team member will be required to enable the group to meet product goals on time.
This position will spend the majority of time on a product initiative to create a new generation controls platform that is best in class for heating products. We are looking for an experienced technical leader that can develop new embedded hardware and software, building on the functionality already developed in the existing platform. This person will be able to perform internal design reviews, manage software releases and foster a culture of strategic continuous improvement.
- Inject creativity into new products
- Research, evaluate and develop hardware platforms and programming for new control systems
- Develop software for new HMI based applications
- Work cross-functionally with other R&D staff to create innovative reliable products
- Validate testing of new programs using a simulation bench, then working with test technicians for system testing
- Learn and develop a general understating of heating systems and their controls
- Become proficient with PLC software to support existing products
- Create controls documentation
Ability to engineer or specify controls hardware
Four year degree in an engineering discipline related to controls, or the experience equivalent.
Basic proficiency in electrical systems and troubleshooting
- Programming experience in the following:
- C#, C++, Python, LabVIEW, MATLAB, VB, or embedded controls
- Ladder logic
- Communication networks and databases
Experience developing industrial analog and digital circuit design for incorporation into controls/instrumentation hardware.
Experience incorporating embedded hardware into systems in a high EMI environment.
Comprehensive knowledge of both analog and discrete instrumentation (sensors, actuators, controllers), data acquisition and signal processing/conditioning.
Experience with electronic measurement diagnostics including oscilloscopes.
Comprehensive knowledge and application of motion control using open- and closed-loop feedback with DC and AC motors.
Ability to apply fundamentals of controls theory
Experience working as a member of a multidisciplinary team, which includes working with engineers, technicians, and designers.
Proficient verbal and written communication skills necessary to effectively collaborate in a team environment to present and explain technical information.
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
