This position oversees the day-to-day execution of payroll operations and related processes and provides supervision and guidance to the payroll operations staff. Approves and reviews the payrolls for completeness, timeliness, compliance with regulations and company policy and accuracy of processing.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: include the following and other administrative and clerical duties may be assigned as needed.
? Lead, motivate and guide the members of the payroll team to maintain the highest level of performance.
? Works on special projects for payroll and cross-functionally across the organization to meet broader objectives.
? Handles payroll reporting and related data management.
? Works closely with HRIS, Benefits, LOA and other HR functional areas.
? Supervises and oversees the complete and accurate processing of several multi-state weekly and semi-monthly payrolls.
? Coordinates the maintenance of individual payroll records, payroll distribution, preparation of year-end tax forms and special reports on payroll matters.
? Accountable for accurate and timely payment of prevailing wage projects.
? Ensure as all critical processes have adequate contingency coverage by trained payroll staff through cross-training and well-drafted work instructions.
? Training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, reviewing and approving the work, meeting deadlines, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
? Conducts regular audits to ensure that tax calculation, wage processing and tax-related reporting results are processing correctly.
? Direct contact with ADP regarding up to date regulations and troubleshooting issues.
? Communications with HR managers on any payroll questions/concerns.
? Evaluates and analyzes existing payroll procedures and processes for efficiency and effectiveness.
? Provides guidance and support for ad hoc requests, special projects, metrics and reporting, audit support, controls testing and validation and process documentation/improvements.
? Special projects with various departments as assigned.
Oversees Payroll Coordinators (8) QUALIFICATIONS
Prefferably someone from the Eastern or Central time Zones

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
? Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience.
? Minimum of 7-10 years payroll experience in fast paced environment.
? Advanced skills in MS Office Suite.
? Computer/software knowledge (ADP Vantage, ADP PayForce, ADP GL, ADP eTime, electronic time clocks a plus).
? Knowledge of multi state processing and garnishments.
? Knowledge of Prevailing Wage - Davis Bacon and Related activity a plus.
? Experience with integrating acquisitions from a payroll process perspective.
? Managing payrolls and pay codes for larger size companies (greater than 4000).
? Strong working knowledge of applicable federal, state and local wage and tax laws and compliance requirements
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
