ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: o Establishes, audits and revises company quality, food safety and plant sanitation programs. o Maintains effective document control. o Performs annual audit for all quality and food safety programs for effectiveness and consistency throughout the organization. o Revises programs and trains plant management team on changes. o Provides annual summary report of changes to senior management. o Establish metrics and reporting systems to insure compliance to specifications, company policies and procedures. o Responsible for maintaining records and metrics for customer issues. o Trains facilities to consistently perform root cause analysis. o Insures continuous improvement efforts are documented and evaluated. o Conducts annual review of plant performance against customer specifications/formulation and reports findings to senior management. o Champions internal auditing program. o Develops and training internal auditing team. o Maintains and audits accuracy and precision testing of plant laboratories. o Audits various internal business units for compliance to company policy and procedures. o Reports finding to plant management and senior management. v Champions external audits. o Leads all non-GMP audits. o Conducts 2 pre-audits/facility each year based on customer and third party audit criteria (encompasses all aspects of GMP, food safety and quality systems). o Meets with plant management team to review results in a timely manner and communicates plant performance and overall readiness to senior management. o Audits forward warehouses as necessary and maintains required emergency contact information and audit records. o Provides annual training to team members. o Serves as the primary contact for any significant food safety and/or food quality event. o Regularly communicates with sales and customers to support overall customer satisfaction. o Ensures performance of plant Quality Managers meet company expectations to drive effect results that support Food Safety, Worker Safety, Quality, Sanitation and Efficiency. o Travels as necessary to audit facilities and attend customer events. o Communicates training requirements for quality, food safety and sanitation programs and procedures. o Identify programs and procedures and training frequency. o Reviews expectations with training coordinator and plant management teams. o Audits effectiveness annually and provides summary report to senior management. QUALIFICATIONS QUALIFICATIONS: o Strong communication and influencing skills. o B.S., preference for Food Science or Food Engineering. o Minimum of 10 years working in the food industry. o Certified in HACCP/HARPC o Knowledge of governmental and industry standards for the food industry. o Minimum of 3 years experience working a food production environment. o Demonstrated understanding of SPC and statistics. o Good MS Office and presentation skills. o Demonstrated experience leading and building effective teams. o Ability to prioritize and multi-task work. o Demonstrated problem solving ability. o Certified Quality Auditor preferred Job Type: Full-time Education: Experience: - Food Production/Manufacturing: 4 years (Preferred)
