Senior Principal Industrial Design User Experience Lead

Immediate job opening for a Senior Principal Industrial Designer/User Experience Lead for one of the leading medical diagnostic manufacturers in the world ($1B Division). This unique position has ultimate authority over design & user interactions, with extensive autonomy and responsibility.

  • Critical position that will lead NPD & platform development; defining industrial design, leading user & customer research activities, and translating insights into design solutions

  • Youll enjoy this role if you like freedom to own the process; you will determine the best channel for customer insights, guide teams through HW/SW workflow, and manage lifecycles from start to finish

  • Position can grow into Management if desired; or stay on high-level technical path you determine your future and can hand-select and hire a larger team if you determine its needed!

Additional responsibilities

  • Lead product definition for new products and platforms by applying systems thinking, user centered design methodologies. Manage and own the UX of all aspects of a system such as User Interface(s), Industrial Design, Usability, Product Labeling & Documentation, Packaging.

  • Lead user and customer research activities to identify user needs/requirements and translating those findings, insights into design solutions.

  • Lead the design of new products from initial concept to manufacturing. Develop product concepts, with clear and compelling visual communication, prototype continuously, test designs with users, translate results back into the design process.

  • Define industrial design, implementing the Siemens Healthineers brand language for complex medical devices in the Point of Care portfolio.

  • Conceptualize and visualize product designs and physical interactions using sketching, 3D CAD and renderings, physical mock-ups, and 3D prints. Create proof of concept models that effectively communicate design intent and demonstrate product potential.

  • Support design and development of user interfaces working with UI designers, software developers. Creating sketches, wireframes, user flows, flowcharts, prototypes, high-fidelity mockups and effectively communicating design intent to engineering, software, requirements, and product management functions.

  • Support and guide the Product Labeling team in creation of technical documentation such as User manuals, IFUs and Quick Reference Guides, instructional help content.

  • Collaborate with broader design team, engineering, operations, and manufacturing partners to identify opportunities, solve design issues, preserve brand, and create manufacturable solutions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors Degree in Industrial Design or similar discipline

  • Minimum 10+ yrs in medical device industrial design; guiding the product development process (R&D, concept development, design for manufacturing)

  • Must have experience in user experience lead for new product development

  • Proficient in Adobe Creative Suites (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) KeyShot, Solidworks.

  • writtenExcellent sketching, form development, CAD modeling, physical (soft & hard) model making skills, 3D printing, rendering, and graphic skills is a plus. Impeccable craftsmanship and attention to details

  • Broad project management skills and the ability to seamlessly switch between big picture thinking and product-level details.

  • Ability to work independently and in project teams.

  • Excellent communication skills ( and spoken)

Education:
University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
