The Facility Manager has grain elevator experience and is responsible for the day-to-day operations of our clients - Lignite, ND grain handling facility. This contains coordinating all grain handling activities including cleaning, blending, and the logistics of grain deliveries and shipping. A strong Facility Manager understands the importance of safety and ensures all staff work safely while maintaining and ensuring equipment is functioning at a high capacity. A good Facility Manager is a meticulous record keeper that understands and embraces the importance of traceability, certification, and transparency when dealing with organic food production. The best Facility Manager takes tremendous pride in their work and proudly contributes to the team while working under stressful situations at times. A successful Facility Manager has grain blending and grading skills, and works hard to maintain a clean and tidy work space. The Facility Manager supervises and directs a team of about three to four employees and develops strong relationships with these staff, as well as with the farmers that sell and deliver grain to the facility.
The Lignite Facility Manager will be privy to an exciting career advancement opportunity in that our client is building a brand new, state of the art facility in Bow Bells, ND. If the Lignite Facility Manager is successful in their first year at Lignite, they will advance to the management of this new facility in 2018.
Our client is essentially a supply chain organization that focuses on getting organic and non-GMO grains direct from farmers and then distributing these grains to the market. The management team from Pipeline Foods is encouraged to collaborate amongst facilities and to exchange ideas and support each other. QUALIFICATIONS
CAPACITY OF THE FACILITY MANAGER
- Self-motivation and decision making abilities.
- Communication skills that allow the accurate flow of information from facility to facility, as well as between staff.
- Pride in their work, their team, and their actions.
- Grain blending skills.
- Grain cleaning experience.
- Grain grading abilities.
- Detail oriented.
- Math skills.
- Computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office and Internet.
- Supervisory, leadership, and coaching skills.
- Valid drivers licence is required.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and to participate in manual labour.
