As Project/Process Engineer, your primary focus would be the integration of new processes and to evaluate, recommend, and implement process improvements opportunities into any of the their facilities.
Manage and perform process, project, and continuous improvement engineering activities as directed by the Central Engineering Manager.
Perform project management activities as Project Manager for the assigned engineering projects within financial, time, and quality constraints.
Continuous improvement engineering includes the identification, evaluation and implementation of operational process improvements intended to reduce costs and/or cycle time for existing processes. This position also provides technical assistance to sales and external customers as needed
Utilize project-management skills and tools to efficiently perform duties, e.g., define project schedules, conduct project-review meetings, publish associated meeting minutes, and document project financial status.
Process-Engineering activities including the design of chemical process, equipment specifications, development of engineering specifications and standards, P&ID development, and control strategies.
Project-Engineering activities include procurement, installation, commissioning, and start-up of new processing equipment.
Investigate, evaluate and implement process related cost saving improvements such as waste reduction, cycle-time reduction, lower cost raw material qualification, scale-up, and shelf life improvements.
Investigate, evaluate and implement process related cycle time improvements such as batch process time reduction, continuous process throughput increase, pre/post-batch cleanout time reduction, and quality improvement intended to accomplish capacity generation.
Investigate, evaluate and implement site energy reduction and/or sustainability improvement opportunities.
Promote safety in all aspects of operations so as to improve the safety record at this facility and throughout the company; includes work performed by contractors.
Provide engineering support to the Corporate SQRA and CG EHS departments to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations and standards (OSHA Construction & General Industry standards, OSHA PSM, RCRA, DNR, EPA, Department of Commerce (Wisc.), OCPSF, NFPA and NEC standards, State Building or International Code as adopted by each state).
Support daily production activities by monitoring process performance, trouble-shooting problems as needed, and implementing corrective actions.
Assist Technical and Sales Management in the evaluation and costing of new opportunities.
Provide guidance and support to Process Improvement Engineering co-ops and interns.
A Bachelors degree is required in Chemical Engineering.
Prefer to have additional education in Project Management.
Minimum of five years of experience in project/process engineering.
Must have five years of experience interfacing with contractors.
Strong computer skills and knowledge of Power Point, Word, and Excel required QUALIFICATIONS
BS ChemE with 7-20 years of experience ideally from the Chemical Process Industry but will look at other manufactured processes. They are looking for someone who has a combination of Engineering skills from Design thru Installation of capitol projects as process improvement, with strong project engineering skills. Someone who works well with others and can lead/manage others who don`t directly report to them. Client is looking for someone who can juggle a number of projects at once. This person can be a Process Engineer but should be able to list of a number of completed projects. Capitol size is not important but $2MM + would be great. Their projects ideally would be a combination of Process related projects and facilities but on or the other are fine. The key to this hire is someone who can get multiple projects done effectively and having the personality to get people to rally behind them. Travel is about 50% mostly to Midwest locations.
