A large dairy located in New York is searching for a Dairy Operations Manager for their goal oriented operation, with a solid milk market and members of a growing cooperative. This a great opportunity for a motivated individual who will be the leader of a team dedicated to the profitable operation of the dairy while focusing on our core farm values: Safety, Animal Care, Integrity and Environment. This individual will have direct accountability for optimal performance of the parlor, team members, herd health and reproduction. Will also oversee the youngstock program and assist when needed, hoof care, dry cow program, freshening and herd vaccination program in accordance with written protocols. Successful candidate must have a positive attitude and excellent leadership and motivational skills to build a strong, productive team that will strive for a high quality product and promote optimal growth for the operation. The Dairy Operation Manager will oversee training of employees to spot animals needing attention, diagnose, treat sick animals per Dairys SOPs and recording information in DC 305. This dairy also utilizes AfiMilk, SCR and Feed Watch. This individual will also be responsible for performance reviews on the dairy team members and meeting requirements for our quarterly audits per our milk cooperative (FARM version 4.0). Other responsibilities include managing dairy supplies/meds inventory and purchasing. Must be bilingual in Spanish/English. QUALIFICATIONS MUST HAVE CURRENT DAIRY EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION - Strong Motivational and Leadership skills - Strong Herd Health experience - Strong Parlor experience - Inventory and purchasing skills - Record Keeping experience - Bilingual (Will consider Conversational, but prefer Fluent Spanish) Education: University - Bachelor`s Degree/3-4 Year Degree
