Will consider Komotsu and other big earth moving equipment companies if they they sold to the minerals companies. Will consider folks that have worked for dealer selling mineral procession equipment.

Applications Engineer SLC, Utah
Reporting to the Applications Engineering Supervisor and/or the Product Manager, the Applications Engineer (AE) is responsible for providing the Regional Sales Managers/Directors, Area Sales Managers, Product Managers (PMs) and Sales Representatives (SRs) with technical application support and sales proposal preparation assistance in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Specific Accountabilities:
Technical Specification Review
The AE is responsible for reviewing a customers technical specifications to both determine the best solution that the company can offer while meeting all requirements and identify those items that deviate from the companys offering. The AE is also responsible for working with vendors regarding buyout items that also need to meet the customer-supplied specifications.
Commercial Terms & Conditions Review
With assistance from the Finance group, as necessary, review commercial terms and conditions submitted in the Request for Quote (RFQ) packages and identify items that deviate from the companys standard offering.
After review of technical specifications, it will be the AEs responsibility to use the information available in the RFQ (request for quote) package to make the product selection.
Once the specifications have been reviewed and the appropriate equipment has been selected, the AE will be responsible for preparing and submitting the formal quotations in a timely manner. Quote preparation will include working with the product managers, sub-vendors, and outside sales personnel to determine the appropriate pricing and terms required.
Once an order is received, the AE is responsible to enter the order into the ERP system in an expeditious manner. Order entry needs to be done accurately and thoroughly such that any other department who sees the order will be able to see all pertinent details. The AE will also be responsible to work directly with other departments to resolve any unforeseen issues that come up.
The AE will also be expected to provide technical support to customers and internal sales personnel, as necessary, to help troubleshoot problems that customers may experience. The AE will be required to work with the RSDs (Regional Sales Directors), ASMs (Area Sales Managers), SRs (Sales Representatives), and other Applications Applications Engineers. Salt Lake City, Utah
Engineers in prioritizing and assisting with technical applications and preparation of sales proposals for the companys products. Regular customer site visits are a requirement with frequent overnight travel to be expected.
- Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records and documents.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Comply with all Product Marketing Department and Company policies, procedures and programs.
- Promote and maintain a flexible, cooperative, team-oriented and customer-focused attitude within and between departments.
- Keep the Project Engineering Supervisor and the Sales Administration Manager aware of any pertinent issues or concerns.
- Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental standards.
Education and/or Experience:
A Bachelors degree in an engineering field is preferred. A comparable technical degree with relevant practical experience would also be considered. Prior experience working with Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) firms is also preferred. Must have experience in industrial and mineral processing industries.
